In 1994, Brandon Hubbs began working professionally in the right-of-way industry for Graham Land Acquisition Associates, now known as JCG Land Services, Inc. (“JCG”). Over the course of his 25-year tenure with JCG, Brandon worked as: a land acquisition specialist for six years; a project manager/senior project manager for 14 years; and a senior project coordinator for four years. Brandon also worked as a licensed appraiser between 2003 and 2009, with an emphasis on eminent domain appraisal review.
As a land acquisition specialist, Brandon secured right-of-way for public improvement projects. Brandon also conducted title research, prepared real estate transfer documents, and handled real estate closings. During this time, Brandon maintained client relations and project status reporting.
In his role as project manager, Brandon managed various projects based in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Illinois, and Minnesota. These projects included natural gas pipeline projects, electrical transmission and distribution projects, road improvement projects, wind farm projects, municipal sewer and water projects, airport improvement projects, and water treatment facility projects. Brandon oversaw project timelines, work schedule forecasts, and project status reporting. He coordinated work with clients, appraisers, surveyors, and engineers.
In his capacity as senior project coordinator, Brandon forecasted project workloads, determined project staffing needs, analyzed project budgets, and reviewed earned value reports. He directly managed client relations and supervised project managers. Brandon worked closely with the marketing group to evaluate client needs. He assisted with the market process, building relationships and procuring projects.
Brandon is well versed in the Uniform Act, as it pertains to federally-funded projects, and with USPAP, as it pertains to appraisals. He has a strong background in the eminent domain process and has provided expert witness testimony during eminent domain legal proceedings. Brandon is currently an active member of the International Right of Way Association.
