In 2006, Brent Stephenson graduated with High Honors from Friends University, earning his Bachelor of Arts in English.
Brent graduated with Distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2009. Since September of 2009, Brent has continuously held an active Nebraska license to practice law. Brent is an active member of the Nebraska State Bar Association (“NSBA”) and is a graduate of the NSBA’s 2015-2016 Leadership Academy.
During law school, Brent worked as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Alan G. Gless. From 2009 through 2015, Brent worked as an associate attorney in Lincoln, Nebraska for the general practice law firm of Jeffrey, Hahn, Hemmerling & Zimmerman, PC, LLO. Brent had the opportunity to practice real property law in various contexts, ranging from transactional work to litigation. Between 2015 and 2017, Brent took his legal talents to the public sector, working stints at the Nebraska Department of Revenue and the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice.
In 2017, Brent began working as Vanguard’s General Counsel. Brent provides oversight with respect to title searches and closing procedures. Additionally, Brent works to ensure Vanguard’s compliance with federal law, Nebraska law, and procedures published in the Department’s ROW Manual.
